You are welcome any time big girl ;D
that cold porcelain shesh as in/ you mean the one made with pva and corn flower? remember that funny plastic bag i gave out. THAT is for putting the C.P threw the pasta maker and such cause its sticky stuff. if you roll it thin enough its easier to cut shape and glue when dryed. moreso like super soft sugar paste. some of that stuff can dry very translucent its pretty cool ha.
prettty darn cool all the same
can we organize a catch up day before you head back to work ?

thanks so much for that... Ive never seen anyone use vinegar in their recipe i guess that's the anti fungal agent? cool stuff tho a she does a better job than some of the oven top tutorials Ive seen. www.thaiflowerart.com/english/thaiflowerart/Techniques_to_make_clay_flowers_from_DaisyClay.htmljust a few tips. funny but the daisy clay has Ponds hand cream in it......... would it be the lanolin content? or maybe glycerin? hmmmmmmm and hmmmmm off to look at more pretty flowers when i should be doing other things........

Not sure maybe the handcream stops the stickyness but it looks like she made it workable Hehe that's how I felt

Oh I was going to offer my book to have a look through too.. but I was too late.. Blue and I have the same one... its a FANTASTIC book, her work is so realistic, highly detailed. I'd still like to try to make some with PC at some stage.. I wonder if mouldmaker addition would help with that.. Jules would it make the PC easier to work in thinner applications?.. Oh hang on... I'm NOT going to start on flowers now... no no no...! I do have armature for a figure though...and an idea..

Thank you for the offer too Donna Mouldmaker makes the clay softer and tacky I don't know if it would be any good for something not on an armature or alternatively thick

I have been using Mould Maker in every recent doll I have done, and have really liked the result I mix it only 12 parts Living Doll to one part Mould Maker Any more than that and yes, it will be too soft and sticky But ever since using the mix I have not had any cracks or broken fingers and such

Thats interesting have you tried a stress test- ie. does it allow you to bend the baked clay further before it breaks does it leave the fingers slightly bendable at that ratio and were the fingers still over an armature it's always great to find more materials to make stronger sculpts

It definitely gives them a bit of elasticity, both over an armature or without As mentioned in the Corpse Bride post her hand is bendable enough that I will finish posing it after Vincent's hand is done. Of course in her case it is helped extra that she does have a hand armature and being a skeleton her fingers have cuts into where the knuckles are.
When I do my next baking/cooking I will make a quick hand out of normal clay and my mix, and do a stress test. And also a drop test, and it has definitely helped that too.

It must be the addition of the other clay, on its own the moldmaker- though slightly flexible can be broken quite easily, you can break bits off just by pinching bits off with your fingernails I've read that small amounts of the fimo quick mix which also softens clay also makes the mix stronger

Some people also like to mix in a bit of cernit for its strength I guess everyone has their own likes and its a matter of what works for you

A bit of Cernit does make it stronger, I did a strength test and even trying to cut it with a scalpel can be hard The main downside is that the skin tone and some of the white you can get is translucent and adding translucent clay adds to the problem of moonies

But like you said it might not be the mix for your project as Cernit doesn’t make the clay bendable which is what you needed for your sculpt to pose the hand instead it makes tough to break –less brittle

Shes even taking Fabric, photography and art as subjects this year now. Haha.. Good or bad influence, I don't know..!!
