... well not really, in fact not at all. Does anyone here make face cabs along the lines of this one? Or maybe not necessarily that one but it needs to have a nice flat back I'm making a goddess doll for someone and i'd love to have a little face to on it like the dollies here. I could order the mold, but it'd take probably 2 weeks to get here and I need it sooner than that. If I cant one, she'll just have to go faceless lol. I am of course willing to pay, or do some kind of swap for the face

you don't happen to have any dollies you can put gladwrap over the head squish polyclay to make an imprint take of carefully not to warp clay and bake the gladwrap might leave marks in the mold but its there to safeguard doll (gently pull out gladwrap stuck to clay) sprits water into mold then squish raw clay into mold and pull out smooth alter bake
I don't know why i know this I prefer doing things without molds because it all about creating something from a nothing uniqueness the fun of not knowing what will come out and less repetitiveness my oppinion is you don't know if you can do it if you don't give it sometime you'll surprise yourself if you have enough drive
I challenge you to give it a go
tip use beads for eyes if its small
good luck with the doll hope she turns out great

I hope it works for you If you have a $2 you might find a doll with a face or look at chocolate molds christmas decorative dolls like angels etc remember you can alter it add cheeks lover eyelids etc till its what you want its just to get you on the right track if you don't feel keen on starting from scratch the more you change it the better you'll feel about it because it becomes your own then who knows you might discard molds and start ooak puresculpts good luck and let us know how it turns out

Just give the real thing a go, it is not that hard to try to make a face and it will be truely unique. Who knows, you might actually enjoy it. There are so many sites on the web showing you simple ways to make them. You might surprise yourself about how well it turns out. The only thing between a lump of clay and a beautiful face is lots of practice ;-) Good Luck

Its not that we don't want to help it just that we want to encourage you to have a go because we feel that you are more then capable and you've got to start somewhere How big does this face have to be i might be able to think of something else you can base it on have you seen Jill Willich's tutorial it might not be on a smooth goddess face but you don't have to follow it to the T she sculpts the face on a woodenspoon if you want the clay to stick to the spoon spread pva over it and let it dry if not wrap it with tinfoil and you can bake it on the spoon and then take it off the wooden spoon gives a good handle while sculpting
if you don't have any luck one of us will help you out

Well I had a bit of a go, then i gave up. I was happy with the nose shape (well it was less of a noce and more of a small hill hehe), but I couldn't figure out how to do the eyes and mouth... and it has to be a nice face for a goddess doll, not a scary face lol. I might look around the house and see if i can find any dolls that dont have scary fac es to try and make a mold, the only dolls i have are marilyn manson one Just had a look at her tutorial but my doll is only going to be about 4" tall... well this one has a stone for a face, maybe i'll do that

check out art and craft shops too. I got some for about $3 from a craft store in Masterton. Would never be without them, especially my large taper. Ask for blending brushes (rubber tips).

Hopefully I'll find something in town! Otherwise, I have seen some on EBay I got my resin! Finally, when you pay by credit card, and pay for courier you expect it to arrive in less than a week... Anyway, now I need to decide what to try hehe, I need molds. There are some on theartycrafter(?) I'll buy one next week... but i think i'll have to have a play this w/e mold or no mold lol

the are also called blenders (used for paint) and at paperplus I saw them for +-$4 each but i got a pack of 5 for approx $20 I do have a feeling I saw these packs at whitcoulls but I didn't look at the price and you don't need necessary them all they are gray rubber tip tools and I tend yo use the round tip and the sharp tips the most but go with your gut instinct the white ones and other coloured from art shops are a lot more expensive
good luck hope you find some and show us your experiments with the resin go figure when you watch a pot boil-if that makes sence
