okay ... 1. how big an eyeball for what size person (sculpture scale)? 2. what size iris relative to eyeball?
I've heard that eyeballs don't grow (or don't grow much?) so it depends on whether for a baby or adult, right?
gonna have a bit of a search now, but if anyone can help me out ... ?
I'm thinking of doing a 4-inch baby next so might try eyeballs in this one.

2 (babies), 3 and 4 mm iris will suite most size dolls dearest one. 3 being most used for the mini ladies etc and larger babies......... 4 for the larger ladies( 9 inchers). love the way your eyes came out i can see how pretty they are going to look and cannot........ CANNOT believe how gorgeous they are going to be. Just to add another spin on the difficulty factor is........ when sliced they might need to be baked over something slightly oval......... a marble? or round the end a tad?

so for a baby (what size baby?) 2mm iris->4mm eyeball? I got slightly larger measurements, will explain. what I was thinking was to make the eyeball, slap on the slice and then bake.

right ... didn't find much, one cg forum conversation this is what I got: eyeballs are usually 24mm (lifesize), iris half eyeball diameter (ie 12 mm). So if babies are 20inches and I make 4 inch baby, divide lengths by 5. so make eyeballs 4.8mm? 2mm iris for 3 - 3 1/2 inch babies??
anyway, thanks heaps blueybabe.

I cannot find a conversion chart anywhere hon maybe someone else has / knows of one.
for my 2 and 3 inch babies i use 2 mm iris eyes........ for my 6 inch and others and figurines i use 3 mm iris eyes ,4 mm iris eyes for -9 inch ladies etc.
hope that helps......... others will use diffy sizes i guess but that is what it is for me.

If you have a thin slice of eye cane, maybe 'drape' it over a pin head which is standing up in some clay. That would cause a curvature of the cornea. Maybe you get different curvatures with different size pinhead. Probably also make sure the pupil is centrally located and smooth, perhaps with a small dab of paint. Is it hard to do BLL?
