hey Blue, here's a q for you ... when you do a PARTIAL bake - y'know, before you add some more clay - do you still leave it to cool in the oven?  |

hope this helps somewhat...........
ok partial bake...
throw in cold oven........ turn to cooking temp........ watch for light to go out on oven.........then wait """5 mins max"""........ turn oven off........ let cool in oven. ( dont even open the door till its cooled)
it will harden things up enough to gently handle them , but they wont be strong enough to take a lot of stress......will crack if mooched around to much etc. if you partial bake say two times before final bake you will be more susceptible to moonies.
I note with fimo -the lighter colours will darken if baked to long and you will notice the joins of where you have "added to" maybe other clays dont do this I am not sure.
if you are doing something like your bird cages or anything fine it wouldnt need 5 mins say maybe only 3 then turn off.
you will still need to do the final bake at full time.
