Hey ladies...can someone please help me on this?? I want to know if you can bake something in the oven...say a torso...and then add the arms or legs? If so, how would I go about doing this? Would I just smooth the raw clay into the baked clay?? Did that make sense???

are we talking iddys here- 2 and 3 inches -or biggies 5 inches or bigger? i would recommend wire armature . start with head and torso , do you bidding on it then add arms and legs over the wire then bake in one session cause the clay changes colour and youll get colour seams even if you blend it well......
BUT ... + and big try for yourself with your own clay type .... you can make torso and head and bake for =10 minutes -max- ONLY= to firm it up enough for handling while you do the arms and legs..... please note you will have slight colour change till its all baked together. you MUST joint limbs well .....

only another week away for the eyes...yippee........ i am waiting in anticipation for them to i have bodies sitting waiting...... oh but i did read a handy tip .......... to
pre bake the eyes set in desired width in a piece of waste clay to set them in position ..... then place whole kaboodle in the skull before you create the face...
i will do this next time as ..... they still can shift just on the wire and so hard to move back when already in.......

Oh yah!!! Give me a shout out when they are in. I would like to get a few pairs this time around as they are really neat to use and make such a difference when set in a face.

thanks for asking that question, sapph. I've thought about that before but just dismissed it. Might come in handy.
