BLUE...I've just been to the letter box... thank you..thank you You're an angel ^A^, feels like my birthday Luffly lady... (I hope I have something you might like to try soon) Thanks for your nice comments The airbrush looks fine to me, I'm going to get one. I paid a lot for Damien's one. I would have to attach it to a HUGE compressor here though, or get another. oooh the possibilities..will be good for my other artwork too. thank you.

Wow that dragon is fabulous you must be so proud Drools over air brush, I have one but I doesn't make very fine lines and I still haven't got the knack of it or the consistency of the paint, let alone tried it on my sculpts.

i cant believe how fast that arrived Donna.....good grief....... now you know how to use that stuff? heeps of tuts around for it , its used watered down to a wash but will evaporate fast as Tails what needle size is your airbrush? most can be changed for needle size with a new needle and tip. sometimes you actually have to paint without the tip and about 1 1/2 inch away to get a fine line. sometimes its just a matter of adjusting the air-pressure to..... its just a matter of experimenting...........groan. and can depend also on your paint and what thinner you use to ............FACEPALM ! lets do a airbrush thread when we are ready to drive ourselves insane with that a. lmao. cgi.ebay.com/Spray-Gun-Airbrush-Air-Brush-quick-release-needle-U-S-/140460266375?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b4159387thats the same as what i have. its handy to have a quick release... and spare needle.... and one of these days i shall get around to using it properly.............. it is a knockoff but to heck with it.... cheep as.....beats $300 for an original thats for sure. anyhow i am NOT here again i am busy making dinner HONEST ! be bad.....be so bad even the papers write about you xR

mine is just a beginner one, I'll have to check needle size. I tried painting with acrylics cause I can't stand thinners for oil paints. Yes I have too much other things I'm experimenting with to try out my airbrush right now maybe when I have figured out the eyes and need a new challenge I will look into it again.

Thanks for your comments Fantail. Damien is over tonight so I passed the comments on. The tiger on the facebook page is at the Zoo too. I like the stilletto's, they'd made a great chair if they were smaller and padded ... He had a look at the airbrush and wants one too.. Anywayyyy...back to 'eyes' , I quickly painted up some of my trial ones and I've coated them with the envirotex resin. So far they have retained the dome on the lens..when they're dry (tomorrow) I'll bake them and see how it reacts. I'll be cautious fantail and I'll check for fumes. Off to make some eyes for the marionettes now... WIP photos tomorrow hopefully...

Amazing work LOL the photo with all the rabbits looking up at him is funny I can image stiletto chairs
I can't see any sizes on the parts sheet or any where else for the needle I'll probably have to do a search on the model
goodie *Rubs hands together in anticipation of pics*

;D Haha, I thought they were for irises too..I was too scared to get them out, for fear of dropping them never mind 'painting' them haha. And I think I'm having trouble with the ...ahem...5mm irises I'm doing now.. I tried to upload my WIP's last night, but no matter what I did, they were coming up HUGE and stretching the pages on our forum ( and showing all the faults hehe). I got tired and fed up, so I deleted them. I'm going to Wellsford today to pick up Jesse so I'll have another try later. Have a great day everyone..enjoy the Wedding Blue.. ;D ;D

Yeay! Thanks for the picies from what I can see the eyes look really good, beautiful blue I just used a stub neck and so far movement is fine, I'm curious about the ball joint though Can't wait to see more including the sprites with wings
tip for softening the line between shoulder and neck is to add a slight trapezius muscle

Thanks for the tip fantail, I see what you mean... I'm glad I put them up now 'cause the backs have only a thin layer of clay so far, I have to build up the buttocks after I see how the legs will fit..so I'll add the muscle then. These don't have ball-joints..I wish, but I don't feel I could achieve that yet, so I've made them puppets instead I'm not even sure if they are going to work out... Good news so far on the envirotex...baked for 30mins @110 and they maintained the dome and stayed clear. I'll bake again later and see what happens then. edited to add...Yay, my photos reduced when I posted again Posting pics sends me crazy Lol

Brilliant Donna! He's not scary at all now (Santa that is ;D) and the dragon is awesome too. What a talented guy. I'd be proud as a mum too.
Well, you won't believe it. I have touched clay 2 days in a row!! I think I had been procrastinating because I had a pile of UFOs that needed to be buffed and polished. I finally got around to it, they just need to have bails attached or whatever. So I have now also made a square pendant with lips all over it (leftovers from the face cane) and in the oven right now a flower pen and some buttons made out of face cane - speaking of seedy characters, not so cute once I mushed them around a bit. Yay! of course its almost time to go back to work so I wonder whether I'll get anymore done before Xmas. :-P

Hiya Bll It's wonderful to hear from you, so glad you've been creating, all sounds really great too - can't wait to see pics of the the neat pieces Thanks for the comments too, I'm really proud of my son, very talented at fine-detailed drawing too. In fairness to Jesse I will put up a life-sized hand he made with sculpting clay (not polymer). He did a great job, in about 20 mins too. I just have to persuade them to have a try with the polymer clay now ;D Fantail..I forgot to mention the resin had no fumes nor strong smell..it's a polymer resin so thats good to know. I was trialling it because I thought it would be a cheaper alternative to same/similar products being marketed and is great for raindrops, ponds etc as well *really hoping for piccies of belly-dancer pixies and face-cane cute things soon and...

Thank you for letting me know We all want to find a product that works and that is readily available I wonder how it handles at higher temperatures though. As a lot of the skin coloured clays bake at 130 and the other products change colour or get cloudy on the second or third bake
Hey Bll, hope you do get some time to be creative, though I know this is a busy half of the year.

I threw the blue eyes out and made some more today..the last ones for trial and then I'll make ones I'm going to use. I have them coated in resin now and when dry I'll bake 3 times at 130 and let you know. Found the punch so I tried an iris sheet this time..hmm definitely more realistic ( and Fantail I know if you weren't such a lovely girl, you'd be saying "I told you so" about now ) Well I've got a whole lotta eye making mess around, so off to clean up.. ;D

You threw them out, why what happened? Told you so about what - nope I would never do that specially since I'm still trying to find a technique that works for me, you could happen upon the very technique I'm afraid to try. The eyes I'm making with iris sheet still doesn't feel realistic enough but if the gloss application is more successful I might be happy to spend more time on a set of eyes if I know that they won't bubble or become cloudy

;D Hi... They were only made for testing, but not suitable coz' I'd used Fimo (temp.) and I was sure I hadn't used equal measurement of hardener.. Here are the new ones, printed iris (basic copying paper) I repainted the pupil, but I would do it bigger next time. I can't get very good close-ups, I think I need a better camera if I'm going to keep this up I'll bake them when I bake the new eyes...

Oh yeah, I also read that if the gloss bubbles or clouds during baking you can hit it with a heat gun and it will fix it.. sooo...if these do, I'll try that. And I promise once I have this sorted I wont talk about eyes again...hehehe

even blurry they look good, imagine the beautiful sculpts you can make from them I hope they don't go yellow at all or bubble or go cloudy - best of luck
