His legs are ok when stuffed specially with the foot pads sewn on but I will have to put some stitches on the sides of his legs (like the elbows) to tame his splaying feet Yup plastic surgery continues with the soft toys as well Here is where he is up to without his wings His tail isn't stuffed yet and the neck ridge is just tacked... His nose shrunk significantly from the original design but it makes him look young which is what I wanted At this rate I think I'll finish him before Christmas

;D Thank you Donna - not sure what it's called but don't think its real velvet and its a lot stretchier and cheaper. It was the same material I used for the witches cloak I won't finish him today and since he is intended for a young one I'm going to embroider his eyes and nostrils

I'm still sick, so I haven't done anything..raucous sneezing and running nose..dammit. It sounds like panne velvet that you used fantail, I use to sew with it a lot..in fact I'm sure I have some in a suitcase in the attic. When I grovel around up there next I'll have a look, if I have I'll share it with you sewer girls.. very effective for the soft creatures you and Anubis make. Ditto all fantail said Anubis..All the very best for getting everything finished for the market.. Hey Blue, we posted at the same time haha.. if you're in the mood my workroom is outa hand and I'm back to the dining room table..

;D I love the pixies and WOW the unicorn - that is brilliant..looks so realistic. I showed Damien the pumpkin carvings, he was blown away by them..said he'd love to have a go at that, (as long as he does them at his own place and not here, messy boy)

Those pumpkins jaw dropping, amazingly well carved. You enjoy Old Hallows Eve too
Right now I'm trying to find space for what I have and I can't think of anything I want to get rid off cause just when I think I don't like something it becomes useful a few weeks later
Is there anything you are looking for Blue?

;D Helloooo ;D How's everyone going? Anything new to tell or show? I've had a busy time lately and still have the flu' hanging on, but I have played around with my sculpts when I could..mostly surgery though, the boys have told me to 'leave-off' with the grinder on their faces now, haha. I am much happier with the way they look now anyway. Any puppets/marionettes I have seen always seem to have hands and feet way too big, and short legs for some reason..so I was determined to not do this. However I got carried away and the legs were way too long, so out with the coping saw yesterday and they got the chop What have you been up to? ;D

Hello all LOL. Eeks I'm glad I'm not a long legged marionette , Glad you are happier with the faces. Still sewing every now and then- the dragons legs aren't splaying but his feet still turnout a little which I'm trying to fix still have to sew his face, wings and close him up but I want the stuffing to 'settle' a bit The doggy suite is done, so I'll try to take some photos this week

Hi lufflies how goes it all. how are the sickies doing??? hope yoru somewhat better now.... am compiling small piles of bits to send on.......gosh. the prob is we do need so many things...... and those boxes of simply * interesting for something boxes......oh god.... i do need more armature wire... i always use thick galvanized wire but ummm some that was bashing about the bottom of the cupboard has small rust spots on it OH NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! does this mean inside my sculpts will rust even with the galvanized i dunno what to do really... i dont like using the soft copper wire i need the wire for limb strength. ummmmm groan..... begs the question ..will the tin foil rust to- thats not galvanized... hmmmmmmmmmmmm busy with other things also... NCEA child is studying every spare minute. only a week left for school for her..........for the year... to much of a break if you ask me.... but will be pleased when its over she can play in the studio.... have started my asian sculpts. so different doing such a small scale- compared to the 20 inchers cute tho and fun. besides the infinite fight against cat hair and dust.....GROAN !!! at least these will be painted a little darker that will help hide any left over fluffy bitz very different bone structure.. much flatter from brow to cheek etc broader flatter nose to quite interesting really. Grandbaby is 2 months old now already and still soooooooooo tiny. like a little doll. cute stuff. anyhowz hope you all have a fabulous day take good cares xR Attachments:

;D First of all, darling wee baby girl, she is a tiny little doll isnt she. Gorgeous My feeling on the wire is that it wont rust inside the sculpts, it has to be exposed to air to rust. Smooth sculpting with your wee asian ones. All the best for your girls NCEA exams...next year for my boy ..ye'gods, he is not academic that one. I would like to get some things together to share around too, I think it would be great. I just need to get a bit organised first to see what Ive got. Well I have a problem... I will post again to show you and get everyones advice..

Okay when I made the new heads I reduced the movement so they wouldnt flop around.. (remembering they would have strings attached to their heads) but blue-eyes was not moving freely. Well..I gave the head a wrench to loosen it some more and this is what I did... Would I be better to glue the pieces back in and cover with raw clay (they fit better than I have shown) or re-make the section with clay ? Thanking you
