GORGEOUS.. gee Blue they really are amazing, two such different styles and both so brilliant...clever cookie.. youre amazing ;D Very angelic face on the child, love the eyes... cool job of making the knickers for the woman... Bodies are perfect.. faces are beautiful... Now I want THEM too.. Thanks for the wonderful showing...  LOL at swinging poor little cat burglar.. she's just a timid wee sweetie...  My drama is not even bad. Once again -IGNORE ME !! LOL I took the tinfoil off in the oven and freaked... but now its cooled I've had a look and it broke cleanly in one piece... I had seen the inner clay and thought it was pieces...  ... easy to glue back.. sorry for being a drama queen as usual.. Thanks for the pics.. delightful to see... |

soooooooooooo glad bobble heads semi sorted. your almost done YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA every accident teaches us things thats for sure. and yer the clay does shrink a little in the heat.
still cant find this missing foot. oh dear lord ..........ive given up hunting now even, it will just turn itself up i bet anyhow if not then i will find it the minute i sculpt a new one.
ive had enough of clay for today...l gotta go out and do a few things and set my eyes on things other than body parts..yee gods.

the mystery of the missing foot is solved. I must have dropped it on my travels in the studio this morning it had fallen under the sewing table. id looked there to.

Yep I've finished for the day now too... I go out Tuesday nights. Head glued back together now, will fill tomorrow.. light sanding done. I love putting it in the freezer, can get straight back to it.
More like the Goblin had tortured you enough and sneaked the foot back... hahaha!

Blue I know the dogs Korn did, and No, I'm not doing that either haha.
Fantail I was thinking the same thing about the show... I feel nervous whenever I think about it.. big baby... I should start something like NOW, but they have a theme don't they...
If I get on okay I should have the head finished soon. I am doing the ears now then its just some hair effect, bake, freeze, a bit of tint, teeny tats and waaalaaah.. hes over!!!!
Ooops I still need to find the perfect spring, needs to be baked in the head... better go look for a spring...
What are you up to huh?

its actually cold here now...... started raining about 6am and diddnt stop crazy weather. after yesterdays heat again ........good grief.

Well I have a couple of ideas but both are equally complicated, for me anyway.. I could make a start and work between bobbles... and hope they'll fit the chosen theme  Nervous moment now coz bobble is in the oven, 45mins I hope thats the right amount of time- please please be okay.... I'll never like this baking part. It was quite difficult getting the ears the same .. just when I thought I had finished I remembered he has a sleeper in one ear.. ;D Oh well, big mess to clean up.. I hope you have had a fun day... |

I have decided what I want to make and unless the theme is really inspirational I think I'll stick with it

Yep.. actually I baked it for 60min in the end, it's quite thick and the added clay was much paler at the back... put in the freezer for 30mins and Yahoooo all good. All ready for painting now... ;D

Thank you Fantail, I'm very relieved it went okay. I'm very happy with the outcome of my bobble-head.. ;D It's quirky, it's fun and its captured Mike to a tee. I'm delighted with the caricature body and the face is exactly his likeness... don't misunderstand me though, I am not being a braggart or meaning to sound full of myself... I'm just so happy that this project has worked out. After my last few now UFO's its so encouraging for me to have this project succeed and be excited about it. I'm sure you understand... I just have to go carefully with the painting now, I have taken pics pre-paint. I can't wait to finish so I can show you..

Well I've finished the painting unless I spot something that needs changing once the original gets home. I've epoxied the spring in which is sitting well and the figure still stands unaided...yahooo ;D
Just have to do the tiny tats now..
Hows everyone else projects coming along, any changes?..
Looking forward to finished BJDs, dolly, little beastie and tiny cocoon bub... ;D

I know how you feel and I'm very glad you succeeded with this one, it can be so discouraging when all your work amounts to something you're not happy with.
no changes I baked a lower leg and now not sure how to make the upper thigh work, I think I understand the theory but I can see why Blue has redone them so many times. I'll have to go look at some photos.
have fun painting the tats and hope your man will be happy with him too.

I'VE FINISHED.. ;D ;D ;D the tattoos were one of the harder things to do, I just did an effect of them.. ...now I think I should have made the sides a bit wider, and the ears are too high now the head sits differently.. but hey I'm just being picky now... I am very happy with it... The Man is acting indifferent but I know he really likes it.. I'll take photos tomorrow and show you the finished result... Yay I finished something else... ;D BOL with your research and figuring out difficult bits... |

p.s have ordered some white glass beads and am gonna get out the glass paints again. it gets baked at 160 c and scratch proof when baked so worth another shot. will also paint up some glass blanks and see how they go to. might well be able to use them in the beads. hmmmmmm more torture me finks.... this shall be my ( second to) last eye experiment ever.......... am almost officially over it ; )

;D Big hi to everyone.. I hope your son had a wonderful birthday Blue.. I don't think eye experiments will ever be over, finding the perfect eyes- there's always going to be something new to try. I like the idea of glass balls, I'm looking forward to your results.. Good on you both for your Bjd projects, they are certainly a challenge but SO worth the effort. I think I'll try a small jointed doll instead, and tackle bjd's later on..by then you two will have it down pat.. Had a very busy weekend and haven't sorted the photos yet. I'm not happy with the quality as usual - but even if I re-did them they still wouldn't show it to its best.. I seriously need to get another camera.. I'll definitely have them up soon...bobble-head is off to Mikes work tomorrow to show the boys ;D |
