;D Lol you guys are so funny... Oh gawd I have to clean up my workroom tomorrow.. definitely.. You have no idea.. These will be the last bobble-heads I make... I think these ones might be too tall and the feet too big, but who cares.. they're both taller than Mike anyway.. Bodies are clay covered and ready for first bake. I bought some Dukit clay off trademe, intended for a project but unused. 1x250g black 1x250g white and 6x50g various colours all for $30. I haven't used Dukit yet so I was happy to get that.

GROAN. i can see todays tidy up going well obviousness. bbl with coffee...... lord knows ill need it

OMG.. I have absolutely NO self-discipline... I walked into my work-room and walked out... did laundry and some cleaning (not much) and worked on the bobble-heads since... I really HAVE to put them away and get to what I'm supposed to be doing. At least you got your shelving worked out Blue.. one of my cats is sleeping in his bed in my workroom..so if I go in there I'm going to disturb him... nice try!!!! Hard case auction... people really are generous though aren't they, its attracting some good bids... *off I go...dragging my feet..GROAN... I hate tidying up.

I guess its no surprise but they have just officially ended search and rescue in CC CBD they are now in recovery mode. I am so so gutted. My sister is still missing : ( 161 perished 240 still missing.

If I have to force myself to do it I'll get nowhere anyway.. not a big deal I suppose... bigger things to worry about. I only wish I wasn't so easily distracted all the time.
Hon, I can't believe you have been missing your sister... omg I am so feeling for you right now. Any chance she may have left ChCh ? Sending you love... (((((big hugs)))))

sokay kiddo really it is. just cant seam to focus much on anything tis all funny but on the day i knew she was gone and was at peace with that. I really just hope they find and identify her and let me bury her. but i know they have done their best. I had to turn off the tv every time the police would read names i just so sad not to hear her found. to sad. ( I keep holding out for a glimmer of hope she might turn up transferred somewhere but after 9 days... i just dunno ) anything can happen tho a but heck ive had great distractions and one does have to carry on with chin up crazy humor helps to a if its not bjd hands or rock auctions its tails hot milo balls or something just as funny but thank you sincerely now ---------GO TIDY SOMETHING ! kidding.... I am equally guilty of procrastinating in the studio there is still stuff everywhere. but i did get the beads sorted out if not much else lmao. and some small porcelain beads arrived today they are scrumptious. unglazed but really nice. just a different look to try . or something else to torture myself with. for some reason i cant find my mini hammer i wanted to squish on some nailheads to beads. hmmmmmmmm WHO STOLE IT !? ok id best head back and avoid more work and pretend to be doing something before dinner : )

Its a worrying time for so many, I still remember how I felt when my family were in the middle of the flood and I soon had reassurance so I can only imagine your anguish. If you want to talk we're here for you... if you want distracting or a big laugh you know you're in the right place... And I gave up on tidying too, I just have to put away the mess I created in the living room. Damien comes over for dinner Thursday nights so I had really wanted to get a bit done on his mini-me, hence the distraction. I thought it would be good to put 'granite' into the dark grey for texture for the jeans.. well I don't think he's going to be happy with glittery jeans hehehehe... I'll have to make some more dark grey to cover it up. Better go now... take care all...

OMG Tails the links are so drool worthy how beautiful BEAUTIFUL aww i wants them all i tell you.
if your little dollys arm is a little thin you can always build it up inside somewhat. i had to do that with my upper arms i used those doweling sticks to push the clay up and against the inside walls. i bet shes looking terrific
coffee time so cheers to Hip balls, grantex geans and weakly girlie arms ; )
and i managed to finish the studio...... its funny cause i actually dont know how that happened it was toast till about 5 minutes towards the end then it all just came together.
so now i have one draw for all genesis paints i can just pull out the drawer and dump it on the table to use instead of some paints here and there and thinner over there etc. one draw for eyes. etc its wonderful and those plastic drawers were so cheapie to i think something like $12.50 each the draws on them arent very deep tho which is what i wanted anyhow. slip draws lmao
now thats sorted i can get back to the dollys. yaa
have a wonderful eve ladies and thank you ; )

Me too - when I grow up I would love to be half as good ;D
Its the ball again it small and therefore not very strong I will try some brass tubes next time It seems to be holding up but i will have to fill one spot She looks a bit dangerous with the tooth pic on her head and where her hand should be and a sculpting tool where her foot should be
Its great that you managed to make your studio tidy and find a spot for it all

Just popped in before I get to bed...1 o'clock.. my boy talks as much as I do... I missed your post earlier Fantail we must have been on at the same time... any excuse for loud music I'll try that tomorrow.. I'm looking forward to the Dukit arriving now with you and Bll both liking it.. I'm making the clothes in Premo... man that is softer than s.sculpey and sticky. I'm so jealous of your workroom being tidy Blue, I'll have mine done by the end of the weekend, and hopefully I'll find at least half of what is missing. Gorgeous links above... they are bookmarked for tomorrows browsing.. thank you fantail. great going with bjd girl too.. they'll all be finished soon...yay!!! Disco Damien didn't go down too well, so the glitter has to go...haha. Off to bed...b b tomorrow

LOL Disco Damien It sounds like you need to leach the premo a bit ( though I've never worked with it) To leech roll it out and set in between some clean paper and some books for 30mins or so. The paper will draw out some of the excess oil and it will be less sticky - just not too long or the clay might dry out
Finished soon - me haha not nearly but at least closer to it
hehe Blue I meant to say raise hot mug of milo in a toast “to balls” But it still sounds wrong better get on to the bjd so I can clean this afternoon

I was reading a short story the other day with a character named Dahlia so I was thinking of calling her that
What about masking tape for the eye template if sticky tape doesn't work Using a template sounds like a very good idea Have fun painting eyes ;D

;D 'morning naughty girls..
aaahhh leeching forgot about that, too late for the jeans coz I started first thing... but I'll do it for the rest of the clothing clay, thanks Fantail.
I got some more beads yesterday as well, the retro ones. Handmade so irregular sizes but around 6mm, so I've been thinking...thinking..!! has to be something that will stick well to shiny surfaces. The clear film that they place on phone/ipod/stereo glass for packaging might be good coz its static not sticky... hmm.
I need a good program for reducing eye sheets for some of the ones I have. I tried but they all came out way to big... what can I make with HUGE eyes I wonder.
I've started off badly.. claying already.. I have visitors at 3, grocery shopping to do etc etc, I thought about having my hair cut (layered) and getting them save my hair for sculpts. Hairdressers freak me out, I've only been 3 times in 30 odd years and every time was a disaster... we'll see...
Hey Fantail.. ;D Dahlia is nice... like the flower, pretty. At least we don't have to call her bjd girl now.

lmao.... of course well i did a little trolling then went and did some eye torture.. couldn't and didn't want to wait for it to dry so buggered it up with it wet..lmao.. whole iris came off on the mini bead but it mostly stuck on the bigger. would work perfect if you let paint dry first. only issue was being able to stamp threw perfectly symmetrically, the sellotape was fine but the masking tape much harder as it stretches and pulls moreso. also new draws and yes wooden beads. i shall get the boys to fix it up for me it just needs two pieces of wood in length to fit under. under those drawers is my kitchen sink GRIN everything including the kitchen sink......muhahahaha ok back to doll trolling ahem i mean research wink Attachments:
