Hey great news about better priced lenses... venturing off into outdoor sculpts now are we... geez you must be better at time management than me, all the things you get through..
I've been wandering around outside, gorgeously hot out there... to carry on with painting I need to waterblast, need to move another big pile of dirt from front lawn to back... big job, tree branches to chop up, weeding to do.. and then theres inside... hmmmm the head might not handle any of those today...
clay hands need to be stared at some more..
Then theres the 2 paintings I promised my sister, and the 1/2 finished very large guardian angel painting thats an overdue commission.....plus.. oh well... ;D
If the overlocker gets too much theres a very good sewing machine technician on Don Bucks...

GROAN nope i aint doing outdoor sculpts....dear lord just a different medium for eyeballs. i bought some white jade beads to try and they look like opaque glass. grind very quick and are a good colour. apparently most Chinese jade beads etc is caste from marble powders.... hmmmm cheaper material to. totally bakable so suitable for putting in clay thingies ( am just wasting time ) and yer that guy on Don bucks is such a doll. he helped me out with my old sewing cord knew exactly what it was the second i described it. lmao hes a genius. i just don't want to spend $80 plus on one freaking needle need to find another size cause they only $15 usd on ebay. the one that was meant to fit was to short. sooooooo hmm yer thats a job for latter on tonight i finks. if all else fails i shall begrudingley go see him cool about the paintings tho how neat. take it easy on yourself today we cant have any more blown eyeballs round this joint

Oh so no outdoor sculpts then... eyeballs yer bugga that, glass beads or PC balls for me I think.. I'd never get anything sculpted... I have tried to capture the stances that the boys have but the way D gestures with his hands hasnt worked with the sculpt... I'm going to have to alter the hand placement but I can only change it slightly.. so I have a small hold up... as well as finding hands quite difficult. Hmmm funny how small details can be quite a big issue aye!!! Blue I think I have the same self-torturing traits as you, I would still really really like to make something very tiny and jointed...(no NOT ball-jointed, just jointed) I keep thinking about it...

Hope you are feeling a lot better soon Bll, at least you can hang out with us today... ;D Blue, how right you are, everything becomes a potential sculpt or tool and yes I do wake up during the night thinking of how to accomplish a certain effect.. the worse time was when I was sculpting mikes face and it was all I could see 24/7 Arrrgh!!!! LOL Those hooks sound interesting, thank you for thinking of me.. hang on to them, I think we will need a catch-up soon, and you can explain them to me then too ;D The hands look better positioned now, just need smoothing and shaping. I still think the arms on both might be a tad long and D's hands slightly big, but I dont think I'll stress about it coz its too big a deal to change them. What are you up to Fantail? I told the new guy Chris on OG about envirotex coz hes making that eye tutorial and was trying resins.. Somebody didn't do the dinner dishes coz they were playing with hands.. so off I go...

Oh okay, I wondered about that when others were saying how lovely the eyes were on your BJD... its easy for me to blab away on here coz I feel comfy, but for some reason not so easy on OG, but I felt selfish not sharing with those who are giving away eye sheets and eye tutorials so I mentioned it. I thought about mentioning it in the eye tutorial section as well as it might benefit more people there. Do you think?

Yes, me too but I fell I was still experimenting though you had already done the testing It might be good to add the warning Blue did about resins but I do think that the resin will make a big difference for those who can find it It might not be as cozy as here but there are helpful and kind people there Look at this ladies mini tool find ooakguild.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=153057#153057

Okay I will then, later. I meant no disrespect in the difference between the forums, just that - for me- my inexperience means I don't feel I have much to offer the OG, but now I do have something I could share especially as the people there are so generous.
I'll mention caution with the resin... I noticed the instruction sheet enclosed is far more comprehensive than the one in my old packet of a few years back. Personally I notice NO smell at all with the polymer resin, more with PC.
Of course there is no mention of baking it in the instructions. I first used it as raindrops & eye gloss on the troll but it wasn't baked. I only tried baking it because later I saw it mentioned on Glass attic as being fine in the oven.
Those tools are so great...
Have fun with your bears today...

I know you meant no disrespect just trying to assure you not to be afraid This little spot Bll has created is really comfy
The worry is that toxic fumes can be odorless
Just looking at bears not making yet will probably work on other bjd limbs today
Hope you sort those hands so you can post pic soon ;D

... visiting with friends everyday who have the same interests and quirks as you.. Unfortunately I really HAVE to do housework today, and that includes trying to find my new camera lead, which is obviously buried somewhere. Although.. the BH's are sitting in the middle of the table, which is too tempting.. so who knows. I have a little trick I tried when I was sculpting mikes face.. I had it to a certain point and didn't want to lose the detail, so I used the embossing gun on it... just a few seconds.. held back... and it was enough to set the features. I have used it on parts of these two as well, and I'm very happy with it. It means I don't squish finished parts while I work on others. Of course it is all baked to the required time at the end... Yay...BJD limbs....hope all goes really well... ;D ;D

hey lufflies. been one busy day thats for sure. the girl and her boots are off school today - mid term break did school not only just start? so of course we went shopping managed to find some very soft black fine tulle netting for $3 mt at emporium ( ball dress coming soon ) have a few months to complete that tho so no rush. she wants.....black/Gothic /black tulle/ small sleeves or thick straps/fitting laced up corset bodice/ yup i can do that she had just best not ask me to bead it....... My perspex lid came today to OH GLEE weights a stack im surprised. so yer this afternoon will sort fittings yadda and maybe in the morrow topmarks OH YESSSSSSSSS BABYYYYYYYY anyhow. yer i understand ya on OG i was there years ago and there happened to be at the time a snot load of growling and hissing between artists so i just backed away.... i peek in from time to time tho and catch up on latest trends. It seams to be fine these days tho a. its the same on DF also they hisss and roar something wicked at times. backstabbing other artists and such. grow up i say and just simply enjoy the art... Auckland dollmakers and collectors club show 24-25th september theme * Run away to the circus* plenty of time to get a plan on board. and it does not have to fit theme either . I will have a table there this year. yaaa. um hooks...... ill take a photo with tape measure so you can see them. but they are able to be bent around somewhat i would like to find a lot a size smaller scale and gauge to be honest but dont know where. hey BLL sorry your still not feeling the best. rest up big girlie and get well soon x ok i think i covered everything. xR

The doll show themes are always so enticing With so many things from french clowns, jesters, jugglers, to the beautiful acrobats and even something wild and beautiful out of Circe de sole I'm sure there will be something to inspire you
I have an idea that I drew many years ago that is tempting me but I really would prefer to do the one that I was going to do last year
no further on the limbs I just struggled with the other shoulder joint cause the clay was a bit soft
Went to the craft show and spend money and yes I bought more fur I blame it on the fact I don't have any pets ;D

Lucky you going to the craft show, I regretted not going in the end.. happy you had fun a bought lotsa goodies... ;D Ott... I'm listening to Heart... "what about love" and "alone" while I'm on here... I forgot how awesome the Wilson sisters are.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Cw1ng75KP0www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE5GGMhmo-Manyway... its great you have your idea for the show... have you Blue.. will you go with the theme? I have a small idea brewing so I'll see where that goes. This is what I think of making hands.....AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!! I know I'm over something when I drop it.... working away on the hands and down it goes... hands squished...nothing else WT... so I fixed them a bit and thats it, heated with the gun so I couldn't do anymore damage... over it! Just have to do the other ones now.... LOL

patience grasshopper yeah hands aren't easy , hope you ace them tomorrow
I didn't buy much. It was interesting but you wouldn't have like the crowds today Donna It was busy. I saw embossing and die cutters and stamps old and new and embossing powders beads and pendants galore, enamel craft and some cool pocket watches and more quilts then I've seen before beautiful including a display that had local and quilts from Japan, and there was an interesting seminar on making patterns for clothes to fit you I kept going back to the teddy bear stall after buying joints and eyes I couldn't resist buying more fur and there was several I could have bought but didn't ;D Hope you are all having a good weekend
