Ha... sculpting has me reaching for patience I never even knew I had.. but there comes a time.... I'll never be the perfectionist I should be with this.
Craft show sounds so exciting. Yes the weekend crowds did put me off going... also the distractions of all the different crafts and mediums. I've tried nearly every craft you can think of, but theres always something new and exciting to try. I'll just focus on PC for now, lol... I bet you loved all the teddy fur, eyes and accessories, and just when you were looking at all your unfinished teds too.
Well I have a bit of time now so I'll make a start on the other hands... loosely clenched is what he wants, so hopefully that wont be hard to do...

I drinked many potions (mostly caffiene-based!). Sorry i didn't hang out but hubby was home sick all week, misery loves company and all that. I did fiddle with some clay tho, threw a pendant set together. Stupid thing is its been so long I'm nervous about turning the con-oven on. dumb and irrational. We better now so bak to work tomorrow. and i have also found another distraction: started messing around with a family tree site last night. I have found hubby's ancestors back to 1840s. They grow wild so fast (speshly when my mum is one of 9).

ancestry study is a vortex for sure...........how cool Bll glad your feeling better . sorry Mr hubbys been unwell GOD KNOWS how they are almost moaning , groaning and half dead with any little flue or cold he is lucky you didn't shove HIM into the oven grin glad you got a chance to play with a little clay tho yaa
and yes patience ............. what can i say every now and again we will get a part we simply cannot complete and it is not really from lack of ability, *letting it flow* and * trying to hard* our helps and hinders. deep breath, relax shoulders, reset the mindset and just do it. ; )
I did not get anything done this weekend sulk but today am on a mission.....

Hi all. Great to hear you're all better now Bll, so good that you got a chance to make some pendants ;D. Tracing ancestory would be so interesting and very absorbing fun too. I'm putting off doing the hands which is quite dumb... and now all I'm thinking about is circus themes... lol and I had a dream last night that the marionettes faces were all fixed up and looking really beautiful.... oh dear... Whats everyone up to on this cold blustery day?

Just went out on the balcony.. no loud explosions or smoke from down the hill so Blue must be okay with her invention... mad scientist LOL ;D
What a wonderful clown Fantail, what beautiful work, love it.
The hands are almost done now, I just needed a break and 'fresh eyes'... hopefully they are okay, then just add sleeve bands and in the oven they go... finally

I cant test out the vacuum pot for several more days... have to wait for the silicone to FULLY cure before i suck the life outta it..muhahaha. but yer * It Is Done* now i need to start preparing the moulds....which is the most boring and time consuming part of it. it really really really sux kumera sooooooo bad. but it all comes down to good mould seams blah blah so the job must be done right.
thanks for the link tails that clown is utterly adorable the look on his wee face is priceless..... such neat expression in clay.

the Iddy Biddy grownups will have to bake them before i do any more its turning out impossible to finish without squishing to many things. i feel like i need something like those spiky corn cob holders to hold and work on these. maybe should have sculpted them on a long wire stick. urg. aw fanks........ they turning out ok a
you wouldn't happen to have an idea as to where i could buy some really large cardboard tubing and maybe end caps? not the typical small postage ones. second hands ok.
15 cm x 45 cm length at least
I dont mind having to cut down large long rolls. its just the width of 15 cm it makes for a large round.
ive been trolling for AGESSSSSSSSSS.........
that or very long eg 18 inch long shoe boxes. no one has any and to get them die cut will cost $5 each and a minimum order......... far out.

Okay thinking cap in place.... I'm wondering what size the cardboard tubes in carpet and vinyl rolls are, and material rolls... like at Geoffs emporium...hmmm. What about asking on TM mssge board in crafts too... and asking at places like No.1 shoes and warehouse for the shoe boxes coz lots of customers don't want the boxes when they buy shoes... tell them its for a project, most are helpful especially if you call in when its quiet and they're bored lol... I'll keep thinking though.... ;D

good thinking double agent D
cut down carpet rolls might do the trick. although they might be a bit heavy. hmmmmm hmmmmmmmmm HMMMMMM
normal shoe boxes aren't quite long enough tho SULK otherwise they would be simply perfect.

Right, that is longer than a shoe box.. had to get my tape measure out and measure the shoe boxes kicking around here...
Had a quick troll thru the web for you, they're expensive aye!!! and minimum orders too.
Still thinking... I had dealings with packaging companies when I had the art n craft shop, trying to remember names...

Hahaha.. I'd already measured my downpipes...
I ran through the list of wholesale packaging co's from the gift fair books, ones I used to deal with either aren't operating or aren't selling boxes now. One Co in New Lynn used to do the boxes (and frames mannequins etc) that you bought in spotlight... but they're not now.
Sorry no luck there for you... I was going to suggest making them yourself....
